WHAT IS IT?

PNGtuber lets you use an image (PNG, JPG, etc.) as an animated avatar. It detects sound from your microphone in real-time and makes your character react—jumping, stretching, swaying, or glowing—based on the intensity of your voice (measured in decibels/dB). You don't need a camera, a 3D model, or complex software.

It is designed for streamers, content creators, gamers, and anyone who wants a simple avatar for chatting or broadcasting.

FEATURES

- Real-time voice reaction: movement is proportional to volume, with an adjustable threshold to filter out background noise.

- Three image states: idle, speaking (mouth open), and blinking. Only the idle image is mandatory.

- Customizable animations: elastic bounce-jump, stretching, scaling up, swaying, shaking, and glowing. Also includes breathing and random blinking while idle.

- Automatic microphone detection: finds audio inputs upon startup and updates automatically when you connect or disconnect a device. You can switch microphones instantly.

- Streaming background: choose between transparent, green screen (chroma key), or a custom color for easy use in OBS or other capture software.

- Adaptable panel: works in both landscape and portrait modes, and you can resize the panel height by dragging it.

- Saved settings: your preferences are saved and can be exported or imported as a file.

- Test mode: simulates voice input so you can adjust animations without actually speaking.

HOW TO USE IT

1. Open the app and grant microphone permissions.

2. Upload your character image (or drag and drop it into the window).

3. Adjust the threshold so it reacts only when you speak.

4. Customize the animations to your liking.

5. Press H to hide the panel. Then, capture the window in OBS, and if you are using a green screen, apply a chroma key filter.

REQUIREMENTS

- macOS app: macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later, Mac with an Intel processor.
macOS users with Apple Silicon (M1, M2, etc.) can use the Rosetta 2 app to run applications built for x64 CPU architecture.

- Windows app: Windows 10 x32 and Windows 10/11 x64

- Web original version (HTML): any modern browser.

NOTE: For Windows users, a warning about potentially dangerous software will likely appear. Since I do not have a digital signature, it is up to you whether to trust me and accept the risks involved in running the program.
